There are prosperous grass and trees, huge mountains, gurgling streams, but few people.

DETAILED ITINERARY

THE ONE AND ONLY TREKKING ROUTE

Route: Chengdu Arrival

Meal: None

Hotel: Chengdu (twin room)(540m)

After you arrive in Chengdu, please check in the hotel we book for you. The rest time is for you to explore the city on your own. Time permitting, you can hang around at the famous Chunxi Road, Kuanzhai Alley and Jinli Ancient Street.

Route: Chengdu-Wenchuan-Songpan-Chuanzhusi

Meal: BLD

Hotel: Chuanzhusi (twin room)(3200m)

Distance: 340km/7h driving

In the morning, we will pick you up from hotel and then drive to Chuanzhusi. Enjoy the stunning scenery along the road, such as turquoise lakes and big gorges. Upon arrival, check in the hotel in Chuanzhusi. Have a good rest for tomorrow’s hiking.

Route: Chuanzhusi-(drive 27km)-Kaka Valley-(trek 6km)-Niupengzi-(trek 10km)-Changhai Lake Camp

Camp: Changhai Lake Camp (3700m)

Distance: 27km/0.5h driving; 16km/8h trekking

After breakfast, we will drive to the Kaka Valley. Today we will trek about 8 hours for 16km from Kaka Valley to Changhai Lake. The elevation is from 2500m to 3400m. It is relatively easy with good path and gentle slope. Then we will arrive at the Changhai Campsite at about 4 p.m. Take good rest and stay overnight.

Route: Changhai Lake Camp-(trek 5km)-Changhai Pass-(trek 6km)-Feimuchang-(trek 3km)-Yuhaizi Camp

Camp: Yuhaizi Camp (3300m)

Distance: 14km/7h trekking

After breakfast, we will start to trek over Changhai Pass (4200m), where we can appreciate the fabulour landscape. Due to the high elevation, it's going to be tough. Then go downhills to Yuhaizi Campsite for overnight.

Route: Yuhaizi Camp-(trek 4km)-Caohai Lake-(trek 4km)-Hongxing Lake-(trek 2km)-Hongxing Lake Camp

Camp: Hongxing Lake Camp (3600m)

Distance: 10km/5h trekking

Today we will trek for 8km to Hongxing Pass at the elevation of 4000m. Then climb over the Hongxing Pass to appreciate the farbulous landscape of Hongxing Lake. Trek towards to Hongxing Lake to enjoy the amazing wild scenery. After that, backtrack to Campsite.

Route: Hongxing Lake Camp-(trek 6km)-Feicui Pass-(trek 3km)-Feicui Lake-(trek 7km)-Tazi Valley Camp

Camp: Tazi Valley Camp (3400m)

Distance: 16km/8h trekking

Today is going to be tough. We will trek along Tazi Vally all the way up. Arrive at the Feicui Pass at about noon. Trek across the pass and we will see the marvellour Feicui Lake. Continue to trek to the primary forest, where all the trees you see are above 100 years old. After through the forest, we reach the Tazi Valley Campsite.

Route: Tazi Valley Camp-(trek 12km)-Changgou Village-(drive 20km)-Chuanzhusi-(drive 340km)-Chengdu

Hotel: Chengdu (twin room)(540m)

Distance: 12km/4h trekking

After breakfast, we will pack up and start our last trekking. After crossing the pass (3700m), we are able to see Chuanzhusi from above. When reaching the Changgou Village, we will drive back to Chuanzhusi and go all the way back to Chengdu. 

If we come across bad weather which makes the route unable to drive out the Changgou Village, we can help to arrange the 4WD (cost on your own).

We will probably reach the hotel at aboutt 20:00 depending on the road condition, so please book the train/fllight on the next day.
